Social Experiences Across Time Study

SEATS is a mixed-methods project that tracked undergraduate women’s experiences and perceptions of everyday violence in social drinking settings over a four-year period. Initial data collection took place between 2018-2022, and we are planning a final follow-up survey for 2027.

Social Life Study

This focus group study examined undergraduate women’s experiences with everyday violence in social drinking settings. Data were collected in 2018.

Sorority Responses to Campus Sexual Violence

This ongoing qualitative study funded by the Center for Institutional Courage investigates how culturally-specific sororities conceptualize and respond to campus sexual violence. (PI: Leanna Papp; Co-I: Julia O’Connor)

Internet-Delivered EAAA

This ongoing randomized control trial tests the efficacy of an online, synchronous delivery of the Enhanced Assess, Acknowledge, Act program at universities in Canada and the U.S. (Universities of Windsor, Guelph, Central Florida, Maryland, and Michigan). This RCT is funded in part by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. (PIs: Charlene Senn & Sarah Peitzmeier; Co-Is: Paula Barata, Katie Edwards, Misha Eliasziw, & Leanna Papp)

Recruiting for 2025-2026

  • Dr. Papp is taking 1-2 undergraduate students for the 2025-2026 academic year.

    Students should be open to being a research assistant, HUT student, or directed independent research (4912) student working on a project using data from a longitudinal mixed-methods study about college women’s experiences with everyday violence in drinking settings.

    Student should be problem-solvers, critical thinkers, good communicators, and who want to challenge themselves to learn new skills. Students who have taken research methods, quantitative methods, and/or qualitative methods in a social science discipline will be particularly well-suited to transition onto this project, as will those with quantitative and/or qualitative analysis experience (can be course-based; e.g., score calculation, correlations, t-tests, coding open-ended data).

  • Dr. Papp is available to mentor and collaborate with graduate students during the 2025-2026 academic year. Students should speak with their primary advisors about joining the FIRE-GBV Lab prior to reaching out.

  • Dr. Papp is not hiring research staff for the 2025-2026 academic year.
